Grifols' Social Media Community Guidelines

I. Introduction

Social media is considered one of the most powerful communication tools of the 21st century and, as a result, not only citizens but also professionals are using these communication channels to share knowledge and create communities.

As a global healthcare company, Grifols aims to contribute to the advancement of scientific and educational knowledge in the field of healthcare and life sciences around the world. To achieve this goal, Grifols considers social media to be an appropriate means of sharing its knowledge with a wider audience. This approach allows Grifols to connect more closely with its audience and share information in a more accessible way. Ultimately, Grifols' goal is to make a positive impact on people's lives by providing valuable information and resources, and social media is a decisive tool for achieving this objective.

II. Purposes of Grifols' social media

Through its different social media profiles, Grifols strives to share scientific educational content, corporate information and, to the extent legally permitted, information on its products and services. At the same time, Grifols aims to create a professional yet welcoming environment where social media users can actively participate as part of the community.

Grifols will try to do its best to openly discuss the topics that matter you the most, listen to your feedback, answer to your questions, be transparent about the information Grifols shares and provide with its perspective on key issues. 

III. Use of Grifols' social media

Grifols controls and manages several company profiles in different third-party social media platforms and strives to create an inspiring, transparent and respectful social media community.

To this end, Grifols stress all users the need to respect and abide by the specific social media legal terms and guidelines applicable when posting, responding, commenting or otherwise interacting with Grifols and/or with any other member of the social media community as well as to respect the following Grifols' Social Media Community Guidelines: 

  • Stay on topic. We encourage and welcome your comments, feedback and viewpoint in relation to Grifols' content on social media. For individual concerns not related to Grifols' social media content, please refer to Section VI.
  • Be respectful to all those with whom you interact within our social media communities. Sometimes your ideas or opinions may differ from others', but those should not be used to attack or to disparage others. Other users' comments should not be taken personally.
  • Share your comments and ideas thoughtfully, with the consideration you would expect to be afforded. 
  • Do not post information that could be considered spam or use our social media profiles to promote/solicit visits to third-party sites, initiatives or products.  
  • Do not post any content that:  
    • is inaccurate, misleading or false about Grifols' organization, business, people, suppliers, customers, brands, products or services.  
    • is disrespectful, disparaging, provocative, unconstructive and/or aims to provoke a conflict and/or that could entail a conflict. 
    • is contrary to the applicable legislation, moral or public order, as well as defamatory, aggressive, obscene, explicitly sexual, offensive, violent or encouraging violence, racism or xenophobia or, in general, harmful for third party rights and/or physical and/or moral integrity.
    • provides medical advice.
    • violates individuals' data protection rights. We remind that you are not allowed to publish personal data or information of any individuals without their prior consent.
    • is overtly promoting political opinions, religion, philosophical beliefs, trade union membership or any other information that may result irrelevant to the community. 
    • infringes any third party's intellectual or industrial property rights. We remind you that content available on internet may be protected by intellectual and industrial property rights, thus you should only share or post content for which you have the rights to do so.
    • comes from untrusted websites in order to prevent the transmission of any malicious software, viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time bombs or other similar harmful programming routines. 
    • promotes or attempts to promote irrelevant, obviously unwanted, unauthorized, inappropriately commercial or promotional, or gratuitous product, services or activities.  

By posting on Grifols' social media profiles, you agree that your posts, including any ideas or techniques contained therein, may be freely reused elsewhere in any manner by any third party, including Grifols and the social media platform. When you post on any Grifols' social media profiles, your personal data (such as your username and profile image) that is linked to your social media account will be visible and associated with your post. In this context, your personal data will be processed in accordance with Grifols' Privacy Notice and the corresponding privacy policies of each social media platform.

IV. Liability exemption

The posts, comments, responses and/or reactions published in our social media profiles are not always made by Grifols, but by other social media users. The content of these publications do not reflect the opinion of Grifols or the social media platform and are the sole responsibility of the individuals posting them.

The information shared in our social media profiles should under no circumstance be interpreted as a promotion, recommendation or endorsement of any of Grifols' products or services. Additionally, the content provided therein is not intended to replace the advice of a medical or healthcare professional in any way. Social media users are advised to always seek professional medical advice and not to make any decisions based solely on the information or content provided by Grifols or other users through social media profiles.

In this sense, Grifols shall not be held responsible for any decisions made by you based on the information provided on its social media profiles. You assume full responsibility for any decisions made and cannot make any claim against Grifols for any consequences resulting from such decisions.

V. Enforcement

Any post, comment, response, content or action that could violate the specific social media specific social media legal terms and guidelines will be reported to the corresponding social media platform following the appropriate procedure. Grifols also encourages any community member to report the social media platform any infringing content.

Without prejudice to the above and to the extent permitted, Grifols reserves the right to hide or remove posts, comments and responses from its social media profiles that do not respect these Grifols' Social Media Community Guidelines. Social media users that persistently violate these guidelines may be blocked from posting, commenting or interacting in our social media profiles.

VI. Preferred means of contact

You may have reasons to contact Grifols for a variety of purposes that could concern individual matters. Grifols reminds you that social media is not the proper channel to submit any individual questions or concerns you may have as there are specific communication channels available on Grifols' website (www.grifols.com) to this end. In this sense, we kindly request you to direct any requests, queries, concerns or any other type of correspondence to Grifols through the appropriate channels so that Grifols may respond to your inquiry in a timely and effective manner.
